“The Budget sends a strong signal that digital sovereignty is a priority for the state. Currently, there is no binding obligation on the government to favour Canadian businesses. We hope the announced support will empower businesses like ours to keep innovating while contributing to data protection and digital independence in Canada,” states Stéphane Garneau, President of Micrologic.

Québec, November 5, 2025 – Micrologic positively welcomes the Federal Budget 2025, presented this week.

Micrologic is pleased to see that the Government of Canada, through its $925.6 million investment in digital sovereignty and technology infrastructure, now recognizes the importance of building the nation’s capacity in these areas.

Micrologic believes that the Office of Digital Transformation will be a driving force to accelerate technology upgrades across the federal government. The company sees this initiative as a unique opportunity for Canadian innovators to showcase their expertise.

In addition, Micrologic commends the federal government’s will to prioritize Canadian suppliers and solutions in public procurement. The adoption of the Buy Canadian Policy is a tangible step forward to promote local expertise, grow the domestic economy and secure the future of Canada’s tech ecosystems. “By choosing Canadian technology first, the government not only promotes innovation but also gives an impetus to our businesses, allowing them to reach new heights and make a lasting contribution to the country’s economic vitality,” M. Garneau adds.

Micrologic is calling on the government to put this commitment into practice through binding legislation that gives Canadian companies a key role in deploying digital technology powered by Canadian expertise, especially when it comes to sovereign AI. By establishing clear rules in favour of national expertise and sustainable data management, Canada would send the powerful message that digital independence must become a cornerstone of national prosperity and security—and Canadian companies have a big part to play.
