Micro Logic’s Sovereign Cloud Stands Out Internationally
Quebec City, March 17, 2023 – Powered by Micro Logic, the Cirrus sovereign cloud achieved an exceptional verification level with VMware, a world leader in cloud innovation. The Quebec-based company sees the confirmation that its Cirrus cloud offering meets the high standards of VMware’s Sovereign Cloud Initiative, a distinction that less than 1% of clouds worldwide, and only four in all of North America, have ever achieved.
This is the culmination of a rigorous qualification process that required Micro Logic to meet or exceed VMware’s 20-point membership criteria. It also confirms that Cirrus fully meets the requirements of large institutions, public bodies, and private companies in terms of hosting sensitive data, as well as the new standards and regulations imposed by government authorities.
Proud of Seeing Our Canadian Sovereign Cloud Recognized Globally
“Being admitted to the Sovereign Cloud Initiative means that Micro Logic becomes part of a select group comprised of only 38 other members across the world. My greatest pride is that a Quebec-based company managed to stand out globally and earn the recognition of a leading provider of cloud-based data protection solutions. It is amazing that our Cirrus cloud, 100% designed here and whose entire data is hosted on Canadian soil, has achieved this level of recognition. We feel that the concerns surrounding the hosting of sensitive data are increasingly shared by leaders and citizens. I am very pleased with this growing awareness, and I am all the more proud that a local company is so well positioned to meet these major challenges”, explains Stéphane Garneau, President of Micro Logic. “This is great news for the team behind the development of Cirrus. It shows we have managed to attract highly qualified experts worthy of international praise.”
“There is no data sovereignty without cloud sovereignty. And sovereignty does not have to come at the expense of cloud innovation,” said Rajeev Bhardwaj, vice president, cloud provider platform solutions, VMware. “VMware Sovereign Cloud providers such as Micro Logic can help customers innovate and drive digital transformation while reducing the risk of unlocking the value of data.”
Organizations that opt for a recognized sovereign cloud provider opt to protect the independence, security, compliance, and integrity of the data that migrates to the cloud. Cirrus also provides them with the assurance that their data resides within the national territory and subject to our laws, ensuring the sovereignty of data, and protection against rapidly evolving attack vectors.
“In other words, our clients benefit from knowing their data remains on Canadian soil, under Canadian laws and jurisdiction. They can maintain continuous compliance faster and more efficiently. Furthermore, our cloud is powered by clean energy and meets the highest environmental standards,” adds Garneau.
A Timely Achievement for an Accelerated Growth Phase
This recognition effectively accelerates the growth plan initiated by Micro Logic a few years ago: “In a few weeks, we will be able to present our deployment plans for Cirrus in new markets outside the province. We couldn’t have asked for a better time to be admitted in the Sovereign Cloud Initiative. », concludes Garneau.
